Sex addiction

I don't get that sex addiction would actually be about sex where rape is usually not - just - about sex.

Can sex be physically addictive like heroin can be? I would think not; but then again, just like with most things, chemicals and chemical balances probably are involved.

On the other hand, as with all addictions, next to the physical component there is a psychological component. As some South Park episode on this indicates, there may be a lot of situations where the latter is hidden and even excused by the (presumed presence of the) former.
